Humans display a wide range of psychological traits that can make us resistant to change and by association - the future. Understanding these traits helps explain why we sometimes struggle with change, even when it brings rewards and benefits. Additionally, the influence of money, sex, power, and personal and group identity, can further complicate these traits, influencing our decisions and actions in significant and often hard to predict ways.
The future cannot be separated from change - they are inextricably linked. The only way to avoid change is to not participate in our future.
